Wow

The way that our training program is established, we have two team practices a week and the rest of the time we are on our own to train.  Saturday mornings are long group runs in Central Park and Wednesday nights are cross training/hills/technique.  This week I participated in my first Wednesday cross training.

Our head Coach Ramon is a maniac!  He had us holding squats for what felt like five minutes at a time, doing lunges, planks and jumping.  My legs were tired in a way that I haven't felt since high school football!  All of this cross training was alternated with running...of course.  So we would run for 12 minutes, cross train for 12 minutes, and repeat and repeat.  

It was good to be pushed so hard, but a little disheartening that I was one of the worst at holding squats.  Yet another thing that I need to practice.
